Daulatpur is located in Bangra East Union, about 42 km from Comilla Sadar and about 8 km north of Companiganj Bazar. The whole road is paved so it is very easy to travel.

Details

The poet composed many poems and songs at Daulatpur in Muradnagar upazila of Comilla. Nazrul came to Comilla five times. He stayed at Ali Akbar Khan's house in Daulatpur for about three months from mid-April 1921. He had an affair with Nargis, Khan's niece. This friendship later took the form of marriage.

In Daulatpur, government initiatives have been taken to protect various places where the poet's memory is intertwined, such as the pond where the poet used to swim, the amtala, his living room and living bed, the historic khan house, etc.

Nazrul Mancha has been set up in this village every year to celebrate the birth anniversary of the poet.

Every day people gather in Daulatpur village to visit the places where the poet's memory is intertwined.
