Srikail College, a traditional institution of the then Tripura district of Comilla. It is located in the village of Srikail in Muradnagar. This company can be easily reached by CNG from Metanghar by going 12 km on Companyganj-Nabinagar road of Muradnagar upazila. The company was established in 1941 by Captain Narendra Dutt under the name 'Bani Peeth'. With this, the area became the center of knowledge and science practice. Narendra Dutt was born on 21 September 184 in the village of Srikail. His father's name was Krishna Kumar Dutt and his mother's name was Sharbani Sundari Devi. The father was a school teacher. He studied at Comilla District School, Victoria College and Calcutta Medical College. His brother Kamini Kumar Dutt was a famous lawyer and a minister during the British rule. After completing his studies, he joined the Medical Service of the Indian Army. He played a key role in World War I, which began in 1915, and became a captain. At the end of the war he took a job with the Bengal Humanity Company and at one point he became the executive director. Although he had a lot of money at one time, in his student life he worked as a grocer and a porter. While studying in Comilla, he bought vegetables from Mainamati and sold them by ferry to Comilla.
In 1935 he devoted himself to social work. In 1939, he established 'Krishna Kumar High School' in his village Srikail after his father. Srikail College was established in 1941. The work of establishing the college was completed in 1949. The main building of the college has 3 floors. There are also student hostels, teachers' quarters, principal's residence, playground, auditorium, pond bank, post office etc. There is also a computer lab and a rich library. The library has about 6,000 books, including some rare books. The college started its journey with only 52 students. There were no students in the first year. In 2000, there were 400 students. At present 300 students are studying for degree and 654 for HSC. Student attendance rate is 8%. Apart from the facilities provided by the government, the students here also get books, salary waivers and cash assistance from the college in special cases.
This year, 238 students participated in the HSC examination and 138 passed. Laily Akhter, Nasima Akhter, Shyamoli Khanam and Shakila Akhter got GPA 5 and brightened the image of the college. Besides, 80.10% students have passed from this college in 2010 and 48.28% in 2009. Besides, in the degree examination in 1999, A. Jabbar got 9th place in 1st class in BSS examination and in 1994, Kazi Md. Wazed Ullah got 8th place in first class and increased the pride of the college. However, Arun Dutt is leading the way. He made a splash in undivided Bengal (including Assam) in 1945 by securing 1st place in the HSC examination. There are 32 qualified teachers. 17 of them are trained. The first principal of this college was Dr. Atindranath Bose. MA Triple (Gold Medalist). Besides, Dr. Anil Bhattacharya also had the fame of Dhirendranath Das. The college was closed in 1956 and reopened in 1983. Then AH Wadud acted as the principal. He is also called the second founder of the college. Ecclesiastical students have the honor of being champions in various board competitions. Here is the BNCCO Rover Scout team. The martyrs of the war of liberation Md. Morshed Mollah, Md. Hasan and the living freedom fighter Bir Bikram Shahjahan Siddiqui are all respected. President Ziaur Rahman, First Lady Begum Raushan Ershad, Leader of the Opposition Begum Khaleda Zia and Vice President Nurul Islam entered the college. Besides, ADC (Education and Development) Sanjay Kumar Bhowmik, Deputy Commissioner Mizanur Rahman, HSTTI Director Prof Jalal Uddin Ahmed and National College Deputy College Inspector NN Tajul Islam expressed satisfaction over the visit. Among the meritorious students of this college are Shri Arun Dutt, Kazi Abu Taher, Abubakar Siddique, Kamrul Hasan, Rezaul Karim, Fuad Hasan Sarkar, Shahjahan, Sakina Akhter and Ayesha Akhter.
The college is being run smoothly under the able supervision of the managing work, under the overall supervision of Vice Principal Mia Golam Sarwar and Principal Gouranga Chandra Poddar.
